Million Mile Bike Ride is a year long campaign organised by Cyclists Fighting Cancer to encourage their supporters and fundraisers to contribute their miles to collectively ride 1,000,000 miles throughout 2017. In doing so we want to raise £250,000 to support 21 Children’s Oncology Units throughout the UK.
This may be miles generated from training for an event, commuting or just for fun with the family. Regardless of why you are taking part, what type of bike you are riding or how far you ride, we want your miles and for you to fundraise for us.
Fatigue, physical weakness, amputations, low self-esteem, poor balance and coordination issues are just some of the many side effects experienced by children with cancer. Exercise is an effective way to improve both physical and mental well-being during treatment and into recovery.
Money raised will be used to provide equipment and services to promote exercise and physical activity from cancer diagnosis, through treatment and through rehabilitation and beyond.
